Ziad R. Haydar, MD MBA is the VP Clinical Excellence- Physician Integration of Ascension Health, where he started his tenure in January 2010. In his role, he leads the physician leadership council, as well as various physician engagement initiatives ranging from graduate medical education to population management efforts. He shares the responsibility for outcomes reliability, process reliability, and service reliability with the rest of Ascension Health clinical leadership.
 
Prior to joining Ascension Health, Dr. Haydar worked with the Baylor Health Care System in Dallas, Texas, where he served as the Vice President for Health Care Improvement and Director of the Center for Health Care Improvement.  He was responsible for Baylor Hospital’s Quality Improvement departments, measurements and reporting.  He also oversaw the education and training in reliability improvement methods and guided the financial efficiency improvements of surgical services across all hospitals.
 
Dr. Haydar received his medical degree from the American University of Beirut and his MBA from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University.  He trained in Family Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina and completed a fellowship in Geriatrics and Gerontology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
